WHO WE ARE
Graeme Atmore
DIRECTOR
Born in the King Country (Otorohanga) then moving to Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty as a young teenager, Graeme made it up to Auckland University, completing his law degree in 1984 and working as a lawyer pretty much ever since. After working for large Queen St law firms, Graeme then went into practice as a civil barrister sole. Graeme’s attraction to property then won out and Graeme has stayed in the property and trust related fields running his own law firm for over 30 years, acting for large property developers and being involved in many multi-million dollar transactions.
-
Graeme personally entered into various property endeavours during for over 20 years, and broadened his property knowledge and experience on both sides of the fence. Graeme, proud husband of Liz and father of Keneti, Isaac and Maraea was keen to see what could be done to alleviate Auckland’s housing shortage, and he was just as keen to show Auckland what success looks like for a family property company run by bright, hard-working, educated, entrepreneurial Samoans mixed in with a bit of Palagi experience. Graeme loves seeing his family taste the joys and rewards of business success and showing others what can and might be for us all, if we step outside our comfort zone and work hard.
Now in his 60s, Graeme is excited to see what the future holds for Ah Kuoi & Atmore Residential. Having spent over 10 years as Treasurer and Board Director of the mighty Richmond Rovers Rugby League Club helping to turn it into a highly successful inner city sports club, Graeme and Ah Kuoi & Atmore Residential are now the club’s naming rights sponsor of its Premier team and looking forward to supporting this iconic club and its unique position in the Auckland Central community. Even more exciting for Graeme will be watching the positive growth of the family business and the impact made in communities.
Isaac Ah Kuoi-Atmore
DIRECTOR
Isaac has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. While still at Pasadena Intermediate aged 12 years old, he started and completed ventures such as a local lawn mowing business, marketing and growing it and eventually selling it to a large lawn mowing franchisee.
Former Head Boy of Mount Albert Grammar school, Isaac completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree alongside work experience in Commercial banking for ANZ. Keen to pursue his dreams of playing professional rugby league overseas, he played in London for a season. But Isaac felt there was ‘still something missing, and there had to be more out there.’
-
So Isaac came back to New Zealand where he was introduced into the property scene, working hard and eventually becoming the Director of Land Dividers Ltd, property consulting and management of subdivisions and new builds for clients. After growing this company, Isaac began to scale the AKA family company alongside his dad and, with the increasing workload, his brother Keneti eventually came on board as Development Manager.
As a Director of AKA, nowadays Isaac enjoys sourcing new opportunities and ventures for AKA Residential. He is excited about producing quality homes in good locations that stand the test of time, and empowering the wider community and beyond through contribution and scale of the business. His extensive network of agents, property professionals and business people is a great asset to the family company. He enjoys putting the right people together and creating win/win outcomes for all involved. His drive and positive outlook is contagious to those around him. In his spare time Isaac enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorbike, spending time with friends and family, attending church, playing squash, investing in businesses and connecting with other like-minded people.
Keneti Ah Kuoi-Atmore
DIRECTOR
Being the eldest sibling Keneti grew up all over Central Auckland due to his parents love for renovating and rebuilding homes, making them brand new, living in them, and then moving onto the next project.
Former Head Boy of Mt Albert Grammar, Keneti showed great leadership qualities as he was able to interact positively and easily with people of all ages and backgrounds.
-
Keneti’s love for sport meant his main goal growing up was to play rugby league in the NRL! Unfortunately, due to many shoulder injuries, he gave up that dream and doubled down his efforts towards Civil Engineering. After graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and making many friends. Keneti moved into the construction industry for a solid 4 years with Fletcher Construction. Keneti learnt a lot during his time at Fletchers as an engineer, managing contracts, finances and delivering on commercial projects. However, he always felt that there was something more out there for him.
When the opportunity arose to join forces with his family to create a successful property development business, Keneti jumped at it with everything he had! Keneti’s enthusiasm, passion for people, and for creating and delivering beautiful homes has helped shape the business. He is loving the opportunity to “steer the ship” of his life, and now dreams of being able to help the Auckland housing crisis by creating a greater supply of quality homes while creating jobs for the construction industry. He plans to have a positive impact on the local communities where our developments are located.
As a young and proud father, he is keeping his love for sport alive, by helping coach at the local Richmond Rovers club and has now turned to marathon running and he has successfully completed his first marathon (the 2022 Auckland Marathon) in under 4 hours 30 mins!
Liz Ah Kuoi
DESIGN CONSULTANT
Liz’s parents Fred and Siutu Ah Kuoi gave up their plantation, jobs, and family in Samoa when they arrived in Auckland on Christmas Day 1961 with three children, all their belongings in a trunk, a limited grasp of the English language and one dream: to provide a better life and education for their children. They settled in Grey Lynn, Auckland.
Liz and her five brothers were all raised in Central Auckland and attended the local schools. Liz was both Dux and Head Prefect for AGGS, and completed a B Comm/LLB at Auckland University.
-
After a revitalising OE in Asia, Liz returned to NZ and worked as a solicitor for two large firms in Auckland city, where she met Graeme, her future husband. For over 20 years Liz and Graeme renovated or built many homes in central Auckland – Grey Lynn, Herne Bay and Westmere. Her practical thinking, creative flair, and meticulous attention to detail regarding interior and exterior design selections are integral to the overall aesthetics and functionality of homes, and have contributed millions to the end value of these projects. Liz has developed an excellent network of reliable NZ suppliers who deliver quality products and respond efficiently to AKA needs as a building development company.
Despite having plenty on the go, Liz has a huge heart for the community. She has given a massive amount of voluntary time to local schools, local sporting organisations and she set up rugby league Homework Centres and franchised the system across Auckland clubs. She has served the community by managing sports teams for over 15 years. Highlights include being the Manager of NRLW Warriors and Samoa Women’s Rugby League Teams.
Like the rest of the AKA Family, Liz is very excited about working closely with her family to deliver quality homes to Aucklanders and especially the opportunity to give back in a generous and meaningful way to both the local and wider community.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES
Giving back through time and voluntary service to the community has always been an integral and valuable part of our normal family life. We believe that through our property endeavours we can help empower wider communities and beyond.
Whether it is volunteering at sports clubs, church services, feeding the homeless in Auckland CBD or raising funds for Kids Can by running marathons we are blessed to serve others with both time or resources. We anticipate that we will always continue to do this in some shape or form. To be able to give in a financial way to individuals and groups who are seeking to improve themselves or the communities in which they live is a natural progression of this service to the community. We recognise that many worthy and voluntarily run organisations desperately need financial support to move beyond just surviving - and into the space of empowering and inspiring others to achieve. We are excited to be able to support individuals and groups in our community to make a positive difference both locally and ultimately, globally.
